Skittles the cat shot in head with arrow in WA, RSPCA hunts culprit

WARNING, DISTRESSING IMAGES: A cat has been shot in the head with an arrow in a cruel attack in Western Australia.

Skittles the cat was found on Tuesday afternoon on Musselbrook Trail in Ellenbrook with an arrow lodged through its ear.

Vets have removed the embedded arrow and said Skittles will make a full recovery after surgery to close the hole left by the arrow.

RSPCA WA said it was "appalled" by the attack and asked for the public's help to find the person responsible.

In a statement they said a neighbour heard the cat crying out in pain and called the RSPCA.

An inspector attended and found the cat hiding in the backyard of its home.

“I am deeply concerned to hear of yet another intentional and cruel shooting incident involving a pet cat in one of our suburbs," RSPCA WA Chief Inspector Amanda Swift said.

“It is completely unacceptable to shoot an arrow at somebody’s pet. It’s lucky the cat wasn’t more seriously injured, or even killed.”
