Timelapse Footage Shows Firefighters Battling Blaze in 'Strange' Winds

Firefighters fought a large blaze in changing weather conditions over the weekend after the fire broke out south of Sydney on Saturday, January 20.

Fire crews performed back-burning operations in the Royal National Park in an effort to contain the fire, as shown in this time-lapse footage. On Monday, January 22, the fire was under control, but increased due to wind gusts after burning over 1,800 hectares and was not threatening homes at the time of publication.
