Man Who Deserted Dog at Dunkin' Donuts Parking Lot Ticketed for Neglect

A 70-year-old man has been cited for animal neglect by Santa Fe Animal Control after he abandoned his potentially pregnant pet dog in a Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot on December 26.

Raymond O Twinhorse was tracked down after a post shared to Facebook by Santa Fe Police which appealed for people to identify him.

According to the post, he arrived at the doughnut shop at around 7.30am, and let the dog out of his car with a note on her collar reading, “I’m free I’m having babies.” According to a local report, the dog is a two-year-old mixed breed.

Twinhorse bought himself a coffee before driving off, deserting the dog.

The dog was brought to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, where she has been named Jackie. At the time of writing it is still unclear as to whether she is pregnant or just suffering with a urinary tract infection.

Animal Shelter spokesman Murad Kirdar said in the same report that a lot of people have expressed interest in giving Jackie a home. Credit: Facebook/Santa Fe Police Public Information Officer via Storyful
