US Air Force Conducts Further Mission in Response to North Korea ICBM Launch
The US Air Force published footage on July 30 described as showing a mission it carried out in response to an intercontinental ballistic missile launch from North Korea.
The latest video followed previous footage of joint US-South Korean exercises the day before.
In the latest mission, according to the US Department of Defense, two Air Force B-1B Lancers performed a low pass over Osan Air Base, in South Korea.
“The B-1s first made contact with Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-2 fighter jets in Japanese airspace, then proceeded over the Korean Peninsula and were joined by South Korean F-15 fighter jets,” according to the Department of Defense, and came in direct response to North Korea’s announced tests on July 3 and 28.
