Typhoon Merbok Turns Hong Kong Staircase Into Waterfall

Roads turned into rivers and staircases into waterfalls as Typhoon Merbok brought torrential rain to Hong Kong’s Central district on Tuesday, June 13.

Heavy rain and strong wind continued to batter Hong Kong on June 13 after the typhoon made landfall east of the southern Chinese city on Monday evening. The storm headed northeast over to Guangdong province in the early hours of Tuesday.
