Portland Police Separate Opposing Protest Groups

Opposing political groups gathered for demonstrations near Portland City Hall on Sunday, June 4. A Trump Free Speech Rally gathered in Terry Schrunk Plaza while opposing groups demonstrated outside City Hall and in another nearby park.

As many as 60 groups were included among the counter-protesters, according to a news report. Police arrested at least two.

The protests come as the city was still recovering from a stabbing attack on a MAX light rail car. Two people were killed and a third was seriously injured after coming to the defense of a girl wearing a hijab who was being harassed.
