CCTV shows 'staged police activity' with 'Karen Ristevski's Mercedes' in front of Melbourne home

Security footage has revealed the moment a luxury black Mercedes was driven in and later towed out of the driveway of the home of Karen Ristevski's husband Borce in what is believed to be "staged police activity".

On Monday afternoon, the vehicle, believed to be Ms Ristevski's distinctive Mercedes Coupe, was seen on CCTV footage driving down the family's street in Avondale Heights, Melbourne's north-west.

The car was followed by a tow-truck and what is believed to have been a police vehicle.

Just 15 minutes later, the Mercedes was seen being driven out of the street in the opposite direction on the back of the truck.

Seven News understands that this police activity in front of the home today was staged.

Ms Ristevski vanished from her home following an alleged fight with her husand in June 2016.

Her Mercedes was seized following her disappearance and police have CCTV footage of an identical vehicle being driven on the same day she went missing.

The footage reportedly shows the car heading toward where her body was found.

A bushwalker found Ms Ristevski's body in dense bushland at Mt Macedon on February 20.

Ms Ristevski’s husband told police his wife had walked out of their home after an argument.

He said he then took her car for a drive on the Calder Highway to fix the faulty fuel gauge, but said he hit a bump and it corrected itself so he drove home.

On Thursday it was revealed Mr Ristevski reportedly cannot account for almost 100 minutes of the day his wife went missing, according to the Herald Sun.

He has denied any involvement in her disappearance.

Victoria Police and a lawyer acting on behald of Borce Ristevski did not comment today when contacted by Seven News.
