Psychic clues in unsolved gangland murder

The daughters of murdered couple Terence and Christine Hodson have turned to a clairvoyant to help solve one of Victoria's most explosive criminal cases.

Seven News can reveal orphans Mandy Hodson and Nicola Komiazyk visited a suburban psychic for advice on the 2004 execution-style slayings of their parents.

The Chirnside Park clairvoyant told the women their determination to expose their mother and father's killers following an eight-year police investigation would be rewarded.

"Push forward and they said you'll get answers," Mandy told Seven News.

"It's given me a bit more peace knowing what happened with mum and dad, and that they're happy," Nicola added.

Police have submitted a brief of evidence on the shootings to support the family's request for a state coronial inquest, but there's still no word on an inquiry.

"I think after eight-and-a-half years we deserve, well mum and dad deserve better than this," Mandy said.

"We're still going to chip away. We're not giving up on this," Nicola added.

Police have handed over all of their information on the shootings which occurred at the Hodsons' Kew home in May 2004, just before Terence Hodson was about to testify in a major police corruption trial.

A spokeswoman for the coroner says the brief is still being reviewed and there is no determination if it will proceed to an inquest.

"There has to be an inquest. You cannot shut this out," Nicola said.

The Hodson family also want the brief on the murder of Carl Williams to be given to the coroner, but police are seeking legal advice to see if they are required to hand over all of the paperwork.
