The 'ultra-rare' Coles Fresh Stikeez collectable being sold online for $5000

The mini-collectable items selling at the major supermarket are continuing to take Australia by storm – so much so that some of the rarer items are being sold for thousands of dollars online.

Coles’ newest collection, the Fresh Stikeez, include 24 fruit and vegetable themed figurines. For every $30 spent in store, customers receive one figurine.

The rarest Stikee is a golden banana named Billy – and if you manage to get your hands on the elusive fruit, you’ll win a $100 Coles voucher.

Being an ultra-rare item, it’s hard to find. But for those desperate to own the golden collectable, there are several being sold online.

Be warned – they’re not going cheap.

One golden banana is selling on Gumtree for an eye-watering $5000, more than most people’s first car.

The seller, from Bondi, suggests the price is cheap compared to another Stikee that was sold on eBay for $12,900.

A screenshot of the eBay advertisement was posted to Facebook, but the listing has since been removed.

It had received 45 bids at one point, but it’s unconfirmed if it was sold.

Another eBay seller is listing their golden banana for $3,150 – but at least they’re offering free shipping.

Complete sets of Stikeez have been spotted online selling for up to $500.

Other collectors were left horrified by those trying to profit off the minis.

“Makes me god damn sick of how greedy some people are over these things,” one mother wrote. “I’m very disappointed & pi**** off right now.”

“Here we go again… disgraceful,” another wrote. “I haven’t been able to get any of the albums so I give up.”
