Twist in brutal Sydney kidnapping as government worker arrested at Bunnings

The 21-year-old NSW Services woman is accused of providing an address to alleged kidnappers.

A 21-year-old Sydney woman has been arrested and charged for her alleged role in the kidnapping and torture of a man who was allegedly held for ransom and had his teeth pulled at home in Belmore last month.

The woman is accused of using her position as a Service NSW employee to provide the alleged kidnappers with a Smithfield address in Sydney's west where Peter Vuong, 26, was abducted by six masked men who forced him into a vehicle.

Police footage shows the moment Mr Elkheir was met by police in a Bunnings car park in the western Sydney suburb of Greenacre at around 11am on Wednesday morning. Police will allege in court the woman was an employee of a state government agency and accessed personal data which was shared with others for the purpose of criminal activity.

The woman from Yagoona was patted down by officers before being ushered into the back of a police van and taken to Auburn police station.

Victim kidnapped from address provided by Sydney woman

According to 9news, the address she provided was linked to an associate who was known to visit the property. Mr Vuong was in bed with his girlfriend when he was allegedly taken at about 5.20 am on Thursday, March 9.

Police believe Mr Vuong was held for ransom at another property for close to a week. He was allegedly tortured by his captors who forcibly removed his teeth. NSW Police said Tactical Operations Unit officers raided the house, arresting six men — aged between 19 and 21 — and charged them with various weapons and kidnapping offences.

"We will allege in court that these men are part of a criminal enterprise in an effort to extort a large sum of money from this man and from this man's associates," Detective Superintendent Joe Doueihi previously said.
