The touching story behind a seemingly ordinary photo of a man and woman sharing a meal at McDonald’s has been revealed.
The photograph shows a young man and elderly woman sharing a table at McDonald’s in Indiana, in mid-western US and was shared by Facebook user Amanda Marquell Craft on Friday.
“Shout out to this guy!” Ms Marquell Craft wrote on Facebook.
“This elderly lady (seemed to be a little lonely) came up to him and asked if she could sit with him.
“Without hesitation, this guy said “of course”.
“My friends and I watched him introduce himself and shake her hand.
“They talked and laughed together like they were friends.
“They didn’t know each other, and they couldn’t be more different.
“But today they shared a meal together and it touched our hearts.”
The man in the photo was identified as Eric Haralson, a 28-year-old father from Noblesville, Indiana.
Mr Haralson told Good Morning America that the woman introduced herself as ‘Jan’ and asked to join him.
“She goes to church every Sunday, we talked a lot about that,” Mr Haralson said according to ABC News.
“We talked about my girlfriend, my kids, she did not have any kids or a significant other that she made mention of.
“I could tell she’s a firecracker.”
The heartwarming post has delighted the public and received over 8,000 reactions on Facebook.
“That is wonderful!” one user commented.
“Loving this moment,” another user wrote.
“They look like they are enjoying each other’s conversation. People can have more in common than you think,” one Facebook user wrote.
