Top Gun: Maverick gets Prime Video streaming date: How to watch the film at home

Top Gun: Maverick was a hit at the global box office this summer, and now film fanatics can watch the blockbuster from the comfort of their own home.

The action-drama, starring Tom Cruise in the lead role, is the highest-grossing film of 2022, as it’s amassed an impressive $1.4 billion at the global box office, becoming the second-only pandemic-era movie to achieve this feat after Spiderman: No Way Home.

Now, the Top Gun sequel will be available to stream on Paramount+, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and other streaming video-on-demand platforms.

In the film, Cruise reprises his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, who returns more than 30 years after the original events in the first film, to train the latest class of elite Naval aviators.

Original Top Gun star Val Kilmer also returns as Iceman alongside newcomers Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Glen Powell and others.

The sequel is set over 30 years after the events of the original, and sees Maverick training a group of Top Gun graduates, including Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw, the son of his late wingman Nick ‘Goose’ Bradshaw, portrayed by Anthony Edwards in the 1986 film.
