Top 'bogan' baby names for 2021 revealed

During the height of the pandemic in 2020, parents in India reportedly decided to name their newborn twins 'Corona' and 'Covid', a move that could have sparked a host of pandemic-themed names around the world.

And yet, in Australia perhaps it seems we got lucky on that front - or not, depending on how you look at it - with the 2021 list of the most popular ‘bogan names’ for boys and girls compiled by author of The Little Book of Bogan Baby Names, Sabrina Rogers-Anderson, and Kidspot, remaining coronavirus-theme free.

However it still features a few questionable monikers, from Sharlet for girls - a much less 'fancy' way of using Charlotte - to the potentially high-pressure filled name Legend for boys.

For the boys, Muhammad remains the most popular name for another year, followed by Noah and Oliver, which has also previously held the top spot.
