'They're chained up to their bed': Teen girl's call to emergency service after years of abuse

A chilling recording of an emergency call made by a teenager locked inside the ‘House of Horrors’ has emerged.

In the audio obtained by ABC News in the US, a 17-year-old girl in a childlike, quivering voice details years of abuse she and 12 siblings suffered at the hands of their parents.

“My two little sisters are chained up right now ... they’re chained up to their bed,” the teen says.

In February David and Louise Turpin pleaded guilty to 14 criminal charges in a deal prosectors said would likely keep them in prison for the rest of their lives.

The couple was arrested in January 2018 after their 17-year-old daughter jumped out a window of their home in the US state of California and called 911.

The Turpins will be sentenced on Friday.

ABC reports the girl told the dispatcher she and her siblings had not showered in a year and they lived in filth.

“Sometimes I wake up and I can’t breathe because of how dirty the house is,” she said.

A lawyer for some of the children held captive said in February the children were relieved after their parents pleaded guilty to torture and other abuse.

Lawyer Jack Osborn said they could now move on with their lives without the stress a trial would have involved.

He said the children had been living together, attending school, getting healthy and leading normal lives.
