Jovial Junes jump to join jamboree

Jubilant Junes are invited to attend a June celebration of Junes next month.

The quirky event, which is in its sixth year, is organised by Busselton's June Anderson who said she had always wanted to co-ordinate an event where ladies with the same name could get together and celebrate their "June-ness".

Mrs Anderson said the event had always been good fun and she joked that it was great for "absent-minded" people.

"They don't have to remember people's names. They can all come," she said.

Mrs Anderson said she hoped some younger Junes would make their way to the event this year, with one local June's granddaughter, June, also expected to attend.

She said anybody by the name of June was welcome.
