Augusta-Margaret River made it two from three with a comprehensive 48-point victory over a rebuilding Bunbury at Payne Park on Sunday in wet conditions.

Heavy rain arrived at the start of the game and affected players for a while, but both teams adapted quickly and contested strongly so that only four goals were registered.

Young Hawks talent Jack Hick booted his first of four for the day as he presented an avenue to goal through half forward for the Hawks, while Mitch Gerrans was composed in his first of a more-than-useful three goals for the day.

Brayden McMullen roved well for the Bulldogs while Cam Lamonica, one of the best for the Bulldogs, kicked their second after the siren.

Effectively the Hawks wrapped up the game in the second term with goals to Hick (two), Grant Garstone, Jake Cassidy and Gerrans' second.

The Bulldogs struggled to get the ball forward and goals only came from the first quarter contributors with Lamonica again kicking truly after the siren.

The Hawks added only five goals in the second half but they had the game in their keeping with the Bulldogs restricted to two with McMullen getting his third.

For the Hawks, both co-coaches had an on-field impact with Shepheard clearing with dash and bringing others into the game.

Brodie Bramich, Dan Atkinson, Ben Gerrans and Josh Morgan were all useful contributors while thirty-five-year-old Simon Andrijich in his first game for the season, found plenty of the ball.
