The Margaret River Organic Garden is seeking expressions of interest to link the town's organic gardens in a trail venture, which it says could be the first of its kind in Australia.

Fair Harvest Permaculture, Cullen Wines, Tingrith, The Margaret River Community Resource Centre, and Margaret River Primary School have given support to the trail, to be launched in September.

Organic Garden organiser Sharyn Carroll said the trail would educate and promote the benefits of permaculture and bio-dynamic agriculture.

"We're just trying to encourage a new type of tourism," she said.

"We want to attract people to come and see our very different organic gardens - to find out what we each grow, why we grow it and how we grow it."

Ms Carroll said people could visit the garden trail for free or pay for guided tours.

She said garden tourism was "extremely popular" in Europe.

"It's one of the biggest tourism drawcards in the world," she said.

Ms Carroll said the trail would link with similar gardens in Busselton and Nannup.

She said Margaret River residents with organic gardens who wished to add their gardens to the trail could call 0402 944 729.
