Top 10 things to do this week

School holidays is always tricky for families, but there's plenty on in Bunbury this week to keep kids and parents, and even GRANDPARENTS happy.

1 Grandfamilies Day


Join in the fun at the Bunbury Wildlife Park tomorrow for the Grandfamilies Fun Day. Grandparents and their grandchildren can join the fun, from 10am-3pm. Activities such as pony rides, a climbing wall, train and face painting will keep the young ones entertained. Meet Constable Care at 11am, Chester the Times Tiger at 1pm and join in the Indigenous Storytelling at every hour from 11am.

2 SPLAT!


Take part in a unique experience at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre this Wednesday from 7pm with SPLAT! The popular travelling stage show is one part kids game show, mixed with circus antics, a dash of live music and a handful of chaos. Throw into a pie dish with extra pinch of cheek and you get SPLAT! 3 Gyroscope


Head to the Prince of Wales Hotel on Thursday to catch Perth band Gyroscope. Known as one of the best live bands in the country, Gyroscope have performed at The Big Day Out and supported bands such as The Living End. 4 Holiday racing

5 Catch a movie


Check out the latest superhero movie The Amazing Spiderman 2 at Bunbury Grand Cinemas. For Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only he can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. The Amazing Spiderman opens on Thursday.

6 Bouncedown


Cheer on your team in the first round of the South West Football League which begins this weekend. The season starts on Saturday with South Bunbury hosting Carey Park at Hands Oval and Busselton taking on the Harvey Bulls. On Sunday, Donnybrook play host to Augusta-Margaret River, Bunbury host the Lions and last year’s premiers the Eaton Boomers take on the Collie Eagles.

7 Easter Cup


Race to the Bunbury Trotting Club this Saturday to check out a night’s pacing action. Gates open at 5pm with family activities such as a visit from the Easter Bunny, an Easter egg hunt and more giveaways. Racing starts at 7.30pm.

8 Corey Colum


Sit back and listen to country singer and guitarist Corey when he plays at the Old Coast Road Brewery from 1pm. The Bunbury-raised artist has played music since he was 10 and his soulful sound is backed by a wealth of experience.

9 Unleashed


Entertain the children these school holidays with the council’s Unleashed program. Unleashed includes a range of exciting activities, such as paintballing, a trip to the movies, a cooking class at Perth’s Taste Budds Cooking Studio, and a photography workshop with a professional photographer. 10 Art show


Head to the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries from this Thursday to see the latest exhibition in the Lower Gallery. Through the Artist’s Eye –Contemporary Art from the New Norcia Collection showcases the wonders and landscapes of the New Norcia area. Paintings by renowned artists such as David Gregson, Kenneth Jack, Mirriam Stannage, Ian Hill and Norma MacDonald reflect the history, culture and community of the New Norcia.
