SW commuters sought for study

Curtin University researchers are seeking South West participants for an online survey to discover the impact of long distance commuting — drive-in, drive-out and bus-in, bus-out — on communities.

The researchers held in-depth interviews in 2012 with South West service providers, long distance commuting (LDC) workers and their spouses to identify key issues.

They are now running an online survey, which can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/XKZT29Q.

The survey is open to LDC workers in the mining and oil and gas industries who live in the local government areas of Busselton and Augusta-Margaret River, live nearby and depart for their workplace from Busselton Regional Airport, or have done so in the past two years.

The survey is also open to husbands, wives and partners of LDC workers. Participants do not need to reveal their identity.
