Tennis coaching proves a hit

Onslow Tennis Club and the Chevron-operated Wheatstone project brought an action-packed week of tennis coaching to the town courts earlier this month with young and old getting involved.

More than 50 locals participated in drills, games and competitions, with international Hotshots coach and Tennis Australia talent development coach Simon Harper.

Onslow Tennis Club treasurer Leonie Stanley said it was fantastic to bring a high level of professional coaching to the community and lift the profile of tennis in Onslow.

"We are looking forward to using the skills learnt and providing more opportunities for recreation in the future," she said.

Club stalwart Chantelle Salmeri was glad that through the Chevron-operated Wheatstone project, the tennis club was able to secure funding.

She was looking forward to continuing to work with the project for further opportunities to develop tennis as a strong community recreational opportunity.

Ms Stanley thanked Chevron, Discover Parks Onslow and Thrifty Onslow on behalf of the Onslow Tennis Club.
