Pharmacy wins big

Kimberley Pharmacy Services has been crowned the 2015 Pharmacy of the Year for its outstanding commitment to patient care.

The Broome-based business beat thousands of other outlets across the country in the Quality Care Pharmacy Program awards, which recognise achievement in community pharmacy across three categories - excellence in community engagement and Pharmacy of the Year, excellence in business management and innovation in professional services. KPS had already taken out the excellence in community engagement category before being announced the overall winner in the competition.

Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley presented the prestigious award to KPS co-owner Hannah Mann at the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference on the Gold Coast earlier this month.

One of the judges of the competition, Victorian pharmacist Bill Scott, said he was amazed at the level of service KPS delivered to provide outstanding patient care.

Ms Mann said KPS worked with a wide network of care providers throughout the region.

She said she was thrilled for KPS to receive national recognition.
