Maressa finds the right blend

The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced its first Service Star of the Month.
Eagle on Wilson sales assistant and barista Maressa Miller has been named the first recipient of the award since its launch in November.

Mrs Miller said customer service was a critical part of her job at Eagle Petroleum’s Kalgoorlie outlet.
“Customer service means to me treating people how I would like to be treated if I was going into a shop or one of our local businesses,” she said.

“You try and get them to walk out with a smile on their face wanting to come back.”

While customers no doubt appreciated good service, Mrs Miller said it was two-way-street.

“They make our day as well,” she said.

“We do a seven-hour shift from 4.30am until 11.30am, that’s the majority of our day.

“So by 10am you need something to get you over that, and it’s the customers and the girls that you work with that make you want to come to work.”

Facilitated by the KBCCI, the monthly award aims to recognise the importance of customer service.

Nominations are made by the public, who provide the name of the person and the business by texting to 0408 246 025 or by visiting the KBCCI website.
