A Goldfields woman said she was shocked to be named the winner of the Kalgoorlie Miner's Best Goldfields Photograph 2012 competition.

Joanne Tonkin won both the judges and people’s choice awards for the photo which was displayed at Sunday’s Spring Festival.

“I was just blown away I didn’t expect it at all,” she said.

“I entered because I like photos and I enjoy seeing photos there on the day.

“I do take photos at home a lot but just of things that interest me and I have entered a couple of other years and have put a few photos in.”

Ms Tonkin received $750 and the winning photo will make it onto the Kalgoorlie Miner’s 2013 calendar.
