Mini Master Chefs get chance to show off their skills

Young people can whip up a feast these school holidays in the Youth Council’s Mini Master Chef Competition.

The competition will give children something different and fun to do these school holidays.

Competitors will battle it out “whisk to whisk” to produce the most desirable dish, making them worthy of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mini Master Chef title.

The competition will be held at the Goldfields Institute of Technology kitchens on Cheetham Street today from 10am to 3pm.

Youth mayor Alex Wallace said the competition was a great opportunity for young people to join with friends and give cooking a go.

“People can register a team of four with their friends and go head-to-head with other teams of aspiring master chefs to create mouth-watering dishes, ” he said.

“The competition will be judged by GIT commercial cookery students to determine which team will take out the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mini Master Chef title.”

Teams can register by contacting the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder youth co-ordinator on 9021 9600 or by emailing youth@ckb.wa.gov.au.

Registrations are still open.
