Style handpicked and hot

Telstra Perth Fashion Festival is fast approaching and with it comes the pressure for local style mavens to dress to impress.

Owner of Mt Lawley boutique Department Jess Chisari understands how important it is for men and women to look and feel good when sitting front row, which is why her store offers personalised styling advice and a handpicked selection of the hottest Australian and international labels.

Set to style a number of high- profile fashionistas for TPFF, such as Instagram celebrity Agatha Witchert and fashion model Abbey Gelmi, Department caters to a discerning crowd who want to be noticed for all of the right reasons.

"Perth Fashion Festival is so big and it draws a lot of attention, and everyone wants to get in first and get their picks of the looks for the new season," Chisari told AAA.

"Everyone wants to be on trend and be at the forefront of it all as there's so many new and amazing labels that are coming out these days."

While some fashion devotees prefer to shop online, Chisari believes you can't beat the in-store experience when it comes to finding the perfect outfit for a special occasion.

"That's the beauty about us being a destination store and not just an online store - it's good for people to have one-on- one contact with us and they can brief us on their events, and we can help them," the 31-year-old entrepreneur explained.

"You can't always tell what's going to look good on you, which is why it's nice to offer things they may never have even considered."

Chadwick's Perth model and Department devotee Gelmi couldn't agree more.

"Department has a really great range of Australian labels and Jess takes so much care to make sure that you're styled correctly and you get that advice that you can't get online," the 23-year-old said.

"A lot of retail is going online but I continue to shop in-store because you get that experience that you can't get with the click of the button."

A social media VIP, Witchert has already started planning her wardrobe for TPFF, which kicks off on September 17, and is looking forward to sharing her outfits with her 15,000 Instagram fans.

"Fashion is really important to me and looking my best is even more important."
