Change in the weather girls
Angela Tsun and Natalia Cooper.

UPDATE, 12:09pm: The long-standing rivalry between Seven and Nine news has intensified after Seven poached Nine's weather presenter Angela Tsun as a replacement for Natalia Cooper.

Cooper recently resigned from Seven because she wanted to pursue other opportunities in Sydney.

It's not the first time Tsun has stepped into Cooper's shoes; originally from Sydney, Tsun replaced Cooper at Nine in 2008 when she left to go travelling overseas.

Cooper returned from her travels in 2009 to present the weather at Seven after the retirement of veteran presenter Jeff Newman.

Most recently Cooper has also presented Seven's 4.30pm news bulletin.

Seven News Director Howard Gretton praised Natalia Cooper.

"Natalia is the consummate professional," he said in a statement.

"We respect her decision to pursue her ambitions in the East. We believe Angela Tsun will be a welcome addition to our award winning team."

Tsun will start at Seven in January.
