Words' Worth: Rockingham short fiction, John Harman

Writers have been asked to produce short fiction inspired by Rosemary Singleton's artwork Under the Arches, Mangles Bay.

FACTS ON FICTION

The City of Rockingham Short Fiction Awards are now open for entries, with more than $2000 to be won across three categories: Open, Over 50s, and Young Writers (10-17). Entry is free and authors can submit up to three stories. Entries must be 1000-4000 words and be inspired by, drawn upon, or use the theme of the artwork Under the Arches, Mangles Bay (above), by Rosemary Singleton. Entries close on October 10. HARMAN HELPS OUT

This year Fellowship of Australian Writers WA presents local author and ghost writer John Harman in a series of special writers' workshops between August 9 and October 25 at Mattie Furphy House in Swanbourne.
