Tempo wins $4.5m contract

Mining contractor Tempo Australia says it has won a $4.5 million contract for the refurbishment of bulk fuel tanks in the Pilbara.

The six-week contract, which includes associated structural, mechanical and piping works, will begin immediately.

New Tempo executive chairman Charlie Bontempo said it was the company's second fuel tank refurbishment job for the same client.

Previously a non-executive director of the company, Mr Bontempo was appointed executive chairman earlier this month following the death of Tempo co-founder Dick Wright.

Tempo shares were up half a cent, or 6.67 per cent, to eight cents at 11.30am.
