A man who was arrested at a Canadian KFC was 'very high on meth' at the time, and told police he was "busy building rockets".

The young man also told arresting officers he believed he was "on the Apollo Five mission".

Police caught a glimpsed of the man's deranged mind while drug affected, when they approached him at the takeaway outlet in
Saskatchewan, on October 29.

KFC staff claimed the man was "very, very high" at the time of the incident at the 8th Street East eatery.

The accused appeared in a local court by video link from the Saskatoon Correctional Centre on Thursday.

Prosecutor Frank Impey read the details from the police arrest report for Judge Brent Klause.

Police claimed when they initially approached the man he was unable to pay attention to the arrest because he was preoccupied "building rockets".

When police asked the man where he lived he responded: "In a carburetor," the prosecutor claimed.

Then: "on the Apollo Five mission. Nebulis 5".

When police got the man into the back of a car, he began to chant: "gin and tonic, hickory sticks."

Impey said the man also proclaimed: "Whoever put the toaster in my head is a f***ing ***hole".

The man was sentenced to six days behind bars.
