A kitten was badly injured when it was thrown from a moving van in Quinns Rocks yesterday.

About 3.20pm a small van was travelling south on Marmion Avenue, near Hester Avenue, when a passenger threw the kitten out a window.

The black and white kitten rolled on to the road after bouncing off the van.

A driver behind the van stopped and picked up the kitten before taking her to the vet.

RSPCA WA Deputy Chief Inspector Sharon Morgan said part of the kitten’s left rear leg was ripped off which may need to be amputated.

The kitten also suffered trauma to her face and her front, right leg is currently paralysed.

The vehicle is described as a small white van with no rear windows.

"The RSPCA would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and may have the number plate or a description of the van.

"For the RSPCA to investigate we need more details and we are hoping a member of the public may be able to assist us," Inspector Morgan said.

Anyone with information is asked to contacted the RSPCA WA on 1300 Cruelty (1300 278 3589).
