PM upstaged by cricket legend

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has received a rock star reception after appearing at a cricketing coaching clinic in Mumbai.

But the chaotic welcome was always guaranteed given the PM's company - Indian cricketing god Sachin Tendulkar.

Mr Abbott and Tendulkar were mobbed by scores of young Indians when they visited the Cricket Club of India yesterday afternoon.

They were joined by former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee and former Australian vice-captain Adam Gilchrist.

The crowd of youngsters chanted Tendulkar's name and surged forward seeking his autograph.

In the crush, many gave up seeking the record-breaking Indian batsman's autograph and instead settled for second best - the autograph of Mr Abbott. Later Mr Abbott announced that Lee had struck a deal to film a major Bollywood movie in Sydney this year.

The movie - titled UNINDIAN - is claimed to be the first major Bollywood production to be filmed in Australia.

Mr Abbott also revealed a collection of memorabilia from cricket legend Don Bradman would soon begin touring India.
