Del Rey avoids Tel Aviv

Singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey has cancelled her first-ever concert in Tel Aviv because of the ongoing political unrest between Israeli and Palestinian forces.

The Summertime Sadness hitmaker was due to perform in the Israeli capital on August 20 but the show has been postponed, making Del Rey the latest musician to back out of a concert there.

The news was confirmed by the star's support act Max Jury, who took to his Twitter account and wrote: "Unfortunately the show with @LanaDelRey in Tel Aviv on August 20th has been postponed. Will let y'all know the rescheduled date ASAP."

Del Rey has yet to comment on the cancellation.

Promoters have promised to honour tickets once a new show has been scheduled.
