Police dog Slam was needed to help officers calm a disturbance in Cloverdale last night.

At 10.30pm police were called to a house on Morago Street.

A police officer trying to arrest a 27-year-old woman was allegedly kicked in the face.

A man tried to intervene and threatened to kill Slam and harm the other police officers.

He continued to act aggressively and after Slam bit him on the hand he allegedly picked up a piece of wood and continued to make threats.

Police were able to arrest him shortly after.

The 24-year-old Cloverdale man was been charged with obstructing a public officer and threatening to injure.

He will appear before the Perth Magistrate's Court on September 5.

The 27-year-old Cloverdale woman has been charged with obstructing a public officer, assaulting a public pfficer and breaching bail and will appear before the Perth Magistrate's Court today.
