Kidman, Urban put on PDA

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have put on a united front in the face of numerous split rumours.

The high-profile Aussie couple, who will celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary on June 25, stepped out together at the CMT Awards in Nashville on Wednesday.

The actress and her American Idol judge and singer husband happily posed for selfies with fans on the red carpet and also turned on the PDA (public displays of affection), kissing during the event, inset.

Questions about the state of their marriage have been rife for the past few months, and escalated when Urban missed the world premiere of Kidman's critically panned movie Grace of Monaco at the Cannes Film Festival.

Last week, Kidman cancelled her appearance on British TV's Graham Norton Show because she reportedly "didn't want to face questions about her marriage".

Urban told the latest US Rolling Stone magazine that defending rumours of a split wasn't worth his or Kidman's time.

"The people who really know us are most aghast by the whole thing," he said. "(They say) 'How do you not want to defend that?' I'm like 'It's pointless'. Our life will be our way of defending it."
