Biker hurt in crash with trailer

A motorcyclist has serious injuries after his Harley Davidson bike and a trailer carrying a jet ski came into contact in Chapman Valley yesterday.

A police spokesman said that the black Harley Davidson motorcycle was being ridden south on the North West Coastal Highway in Chapman Valley, in company with two other motorcycles about 1.15pm.

"At the same time a blue Nissan Patrol was travelling north on the same road, towing a trailer with a jet ski on it," the spokesman said.

"It appears the motorcycle and the trailer being towed by the Nissan Patrol came into contact with each other on a bend in the road, causing the motorcycle rider to be thrown from the motorcycle."

The rider of the motorcycle, a 42-year-old man from Lower Chittering, received serious injuries in the crash. He was taken to Geraldton Regional Hospital, and was later flown to Perth by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Anyone with information regarding this crash, or who saw either of the vehicles involved prior to the crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
