Alleged Gosnells robber faces court

A 17-year-old Canning Vale man has been charged after a botched armed robbery in Gosnells last month.

The alleged offender and another man entered the Gosnells mini-mart on Dorothy Street just after 7pm on April 26.

According to police, the 17-year-old pointed a gun at the man behind the counter and demanded money from the til.

The proprietor refused to give up any cash and the alleged offender fired shots into the air.

A struggle ensued and the alleged offender hit the victim on the head with his firearm several times.

Police charged the male with aggravated armed robbery and going armed in public to cause fear.

Hen is due to appear in Perth Children's court today.
