Police are appealing for help to catch a man who indecently assaulted a teenage girl as they boarded the same train at Maylands last month.

The 15-year-old girl had been with family at the Maylands train station about 6.45pm on Friday, February 14 and told police the incident happened as she moved between the platform and the train.

The man boarded the same train and stared at the teenager until he got off the train at the Mount Lawley train station. He was later seen catching another train at the Ashfield train station.

Bayswater Police said the man was aged in his 30s, with fair skin, about 183cms tall, with a slim, toned build, short curly blond-brown hair and a tattoo on his left arm.

He was wearing a faded fluoro yellow or green shirt with ¾ length sleeves, dark pants and faded brown work boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
