A 62-year-old Halls Creek woman who died after a car crash was one of 15 people in a Toyota Landcruiser, police say.

A 45-year-old man was driving a Toyota Landcruiser east along Duncan Road in Halls Creek around 11.50am when he lost control of the vehicle before driving down a ditch.

"Fifteen people were in the car at the time, ranging from three years to 70 years old," the police spokeswoman said.

"Two were in the front and 13 people in the rear, with none wearing seatbelts."

The woman was taken to Halls Creek hospital but died later in the afternoon.

Inquiries will continue into the crash.
