Chinese tourists injured in crash

Police are investigating a crash near Coral Bay yesterday that seriously injured two Chinese tourists who were asleep in the back of a moving panel van.

A police spokeswoman said the Toyota panel van was travelling on the Minilya-Exmouth Road in Lyndon when the vehicle lost control, hit a tree and rolled several meters about 3.30pm.

The crash happened about 34km south of Maud’s Landing Road, near the turn-off to Coral Bay.

The women, aged 29 and 55, suffered serious injuries, while the 29-year-old male driver of the vehicle and a male passenger suffered minor injuries.
