It will be alleged that the man committed an indecent act on February 22, 2012, while sitting near a children's play area at a fast food restaurant in Albany.

It is also alleged that he recorded people in public places, including children at the play area, using an optical recording device.

He has been charged with an indecent act in public, unlawfully installing an optical surveillance device and possessing a surveillance device for unlawful use.

The accused was refused bail and is due to appear in Armadale Magistrate's Court today.
