Witnesses to Kununurra crash sought
Major Crash investigators are calling for information regarding a fatal crash on New Years Eve on Victoria Highway, 100m south of Argyle Rd, Kununurra.
The crash occurred when a red Mazda 2 left the road and hit a tree. The driver was seriously injured and a passenger was killed.
A 73-year-old Victorian woman died after the hire car she was in crashed about 2pm.
It is believed the woman’s 74-year-old husband lost control of the car and hit a tree after the vehicle entered a floodway.
The woman was taken to Kununurra District Hospital but died a short time later.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle prior to the crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
