Taylor's neighbour feud

Taylor Swift is experiencing "a whole new level of hate" from neighbours.

The 24-year-old singer is moving rocks and building a wall along the stretch of coast by her beachside mansion at Westerly, Rhode Island.

And many locals are irate about the construction work.

"It was bad enough when she moved in, but to ruin a part of the town for all of us ... this is a whole new level of hate," one neighbour has told TMZ.

There were reports the remodelling was being done illegally, but Swift's representatives told the website the singer secured the proper permits for the work.

But residents remain angry, saying Swift's team is "moving tons of coastline rocks in the process" and that wall is "messing with the wave break" and restricting people's access to the beach.

This isn't the first time the country singer has annoyed neighbours.

Her security guards have previously been criticised for overzealously patrolling the public beach walk and sea wall below her property.

The property also has No Trespassing signs that read: "I knew you were trouble when you walked in."
