Depp splashes out on bling for Heard
Johnny Depp reportedly spent nearly $US50,000 ($A56,000) on jewellery for Amber Heard this Christmas.
The 50-year-old actor and blonde star first met while filming their 2011 movie The Rum Diary and began dating after Depp split from his partner Vanessa Paradis.
As a token of his affection this festive season, Depp is believed to have splashed out on pieces from jeweller Neil Lane for his girlfriend.
"He got her diamond drop earrings set in platinum - about two carats total," a source told Life & Style Weekly.
"He said they were for Christmas."
However, Depp didn't stop there. He apparently proceeded to purchase a matching necklace to go with the sparkly earrings.
"He also picked up a diamond pendant necklace," the eyewitness added.
While the couple have remained quiet about their romance, Heard recently hinted that she was very happy with Depp.
"It is really hard when you spend your life living out of a suitcase. But it really does weed out superficial people - if someone is still with you after the second movie then they're probably a good one!" she said.
