Sam's cheeky grin could be a winner

Being a pint-sized person has its advantages when playing hide-and-seek, as one-year-old Samuel Powers knows well.

Visit Nature Play WA for a chance to win one of five consultations with Sabrina Hahn. Simply upload a photo of your child taking part in unstructured outdoor play in your backyard. Entries close 4pm today.

The cheeky toddler, captured peeking from behind a tree in the Supreme Court Gardens, loves being in the great outdoors.

His dad Joe Powers says Samuel insists on being out as much as possible. "His favourite thing to do is going down the slide but I think he likes being outdoors purely so he can run," he said.

Mr Powers photo of Samuel is one of more than 150 in a competition organised by Nature Play WA and the Department of Sport and Recreation. Families have a chance to win a holiday in Albany as part of the competition to celebrate spring.

Nature Play WA chief executive Griffin Longley said the competition was a way to remind families to go out and enjoy play.

"We often think of technology as a hindrance to getting outside but sometimes technology can be part of the experience," he said. "Taking photos is a way to marvel in how wonderful nature can be."

Entrants need to submit a photo of children interacting with nature. The competition closes today at 4pm. Visit nature playwa.org.au to enter.
