Elderly couple turn stars in 'Web Cam 101'

Entering the brave new world of technology can be a struggle at the best of times.

But for this elderly couple, learning how to use a webcam proved to be quite a challenge.

Bruce Huffman, 86, and his wife, Esther, 79, unwittingly became an internet sensation after their granddaughter posted a near-three minute video on Youtube titled: "Web Cam 101 For Seniors.

The pair recently purchased their very first laptop - an aqua coloured computer with a built-in webcam - and, after being painstakingly taught how to make a video by their granddaughter, decided to give it a go themselves.

"I was trying to figure out how to do the videos and didn't know the thing was actually running," Esther told The Huffington Post. "All the while, Bruce was kind of amusing himself because he was bored. He was being quite an actor."

Bruce kept himself occupied during the three-minute video by singing, pulling faces and getting a bit flirty with his wife, while Esther tried to figure out how to use her new-found toy.

The whole adventure was posted on Youtube by their granddaughter, where it has become a worldwide sensation and turned the technology noobs into instant celebrities.

I did not know anything about YouTube, but apparently, it is spreading like wildfire," Esther said.

"We certainly didn't plan it, but there is so much bad news out there. We are glad we could put something fun out there. We like to have a good time and if it makes people laugh, that's ok," Esther said.

However, if Esther had her time again, she would change one thing.

"I wouldn't have looked that way," she said. "I guess I have to quit chewing gum. I look like a cow chewing gum so quickly," she said.
