'I couldn't sleep at all': Winner of $40 million Oz Lotto jackpot revealed

A Sydney dad was too excited to sleep after realising he had scooped the $40 million Oz Lotto jackpot.

The western Sydney man held the only division-one winning entry to the draw after buying the winning ticket at AK Newstalk in Blacktown.

The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, said he checked his entry on Tuesday night and spent Wednesday morning coming to terms with his life-changing fortune.

“I haven’t slept at all,” he told a NSW Lotteries official.

“There was no way I was sleeping last night after I checked my ticket.

“I saw that I had five of the seven winning numbers so I thought I’d probably won a prize. But then I realised I had all seven winning numbers. I just couldn’t believe it.

“I don’t think I’ll be sleeping much tonight either.”

The hardworking dad said he had already popped a bottle of bubbles to begin celebrating the windfall.

He will take some time to figure out exactly how he will spend his prize, but said he wanted to share it with his family.

The winning numbers in Tuesday’s $40 million draw 1329 were 13, 32, 19, 45, 37, 24 and 15. The supplementary numbers were 23 and 28.
