When most people first hear about Jessica Mayer, they don’t know what to think.

Here is a young woman who is said to have five distinct identities. Five different people, all living in the same body - and four of them are male.

Jess is living with a condition known as dissociative identity disorder (DID).

Any one of her ‘alters’ can appear at any time, even when Jess and her husband are at their most intimate.

Despite the illness and unpredictability of each day, Jess has managed to take control of her life.

But how could all this happen? How does it possibly work?
