Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas is seeking further tests at King’s Hospital after fans spotted a lump under her arm during the live shows.
The head judge, 61, is known for her glamorous outfits on the BBC favourite, judging the contestants from behind the glittery desk.
However, earlier this series, fans alerted Ballas to a concerning protrusion under her arm after she lifted them up, and to be rather safe than sorry, she headed to the doctors to get it checked out.
Taking to Instagram, dance champion Ballas revealed that the results have cause for concern, and she’ll be getting more tests done in the upcoming weeks.
Speaking directly to camera, Ballas said that she was in the hands of doctors after blood tests revealed her hormone levels were ‘a little concerning’.
She said: “We’re just having a little check-up. Since several of you thought they saw a lump under my arm and i went to get that checked, then the doctor said she thought my levels weren’t right - my hormone levels weren’t right.
“Anyway, I went and had a lot of blood work done, and now the testosterone has come back ultra high, the adrenal glands need a scan, and my ovaries need a scan. My oestrogen levels are extremely low, all-in-all a little concerning for my doctor.”
She went on to credit King’s Hospital, who will now be looking into the matter further.
“All because several concerned people bothered to let me know what was going on. Anyway, I love you all, I appreciate you and thank you.”
Next to the video was a message that read: “So blood work back. A little concerning so dr is making an appointment at kings to check certain odd things happening in my body I won’t go into the details at the moment.
“Any way to each and every one of you who started me on this road thank you so much. I’ll keep you all updated each and every one of you.
“Remember health is wealth so I’ll be on top of these issues for the time being. With gratitude to you all. #health #gratitude.”
The concerning update has been met with a flood of support by celeb pals and Strictly co-stars, including fellow judge Motsi Mabuse, who said: “Take care of yourself.”
Host Tess Daly said: “Wishing you all the best Shirley”, while John Whaite, who’s competing in this year’s competition, added: “Sending you so much love Shirley.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7.10pm on BBC One.
