Son's death becomes third loss for mum who lost partners to traffic accidents

A mother is grieving after losing her 12-year-old son in a car crash – the third family member she has lost in a traffic accident.

Katie Tolley’s son Taylor died after he was struck by a car crossing the road in East Yorkshire, in the UK, on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital with severe head trauma and later succumbed to his injuries.

His death comes 11 years after his father, Stewart Swift, died when he crashed his car into a tree.

And just six months ago, Ms Tolley’s partner Andy Tolley, 29, died in a motorbike accident.

The couple had been married for eight years.

Friends have since set up a GoFundMe page for the mother to help raise funds for her son’s funeral.

“Totally devastated for the family to be going through this for the third time now,” Sherri Miller wrote on the page.

The page has since raised $11,630.

Police are appealing for witnesses of the collision that killed Taylor to come forward.
