Senator breaks down as he pleads for inquiry into disability care
Greens Senator Jordan Steele-John broke down in Parliament as he listed the names and shocking ways people living with disabilities have died through abuse and neglect.
“These are the names that don’t get spoken,” Senator Steele-John said, after reading his list of 34 names.
Senator Steele-John is Australia’s first senator to serve with a disability and says he will not rest until the aged care royal commission is expanded to include the abuse of people in disability care.
